The Outsiders
The book “The Outsider” is about a 14 years old boy who name's Ponyboy who struggles to understand society in which he feels like an Outsider.
Growing up I really didn’t like to read books, but when I became a 8th grader this was the first book we read in class. The reason I understood what was going in the book was because I could relate to what was going on. In the book PonyBoy was 14 years old and so was I. He had family who was apart of a “gang” who always stayed in trouble but looked out for him when he needed them most. I had older cousin to this day that still look out for me they are no longer getting into trouble because they are older but they were there when I needed them. Like Ponyboy I struggle with finding myself in society because I didn’t know if I belonged or not. In the end I knew where I belonged and since that day I knew who I was and what I wanted to do.

Hello my name is Qadir Allen. Basketball has been apart of my life since the age of 5. I eat and sleep basketball. I am from Newark, New Jersey and I attended Newark Collegiate Academy. I moved to  Freemansburg, Pennsylvania about 2 years ago and the atmosphere is different. It's much quieter and the scenery is beautiful. I am here at Northampton to get my associates degree in sports management and after I graduate I want to further my education at another school to finish my last two years.
